Meet Me at the Cafe is one of my all-time favorite sets from My Favorite Things!! I haven't used it in forever so I decided to pull it out, dust it off and go to work. All the images in this set are just fabulous and well, I like a lot of layers and 3-d in my cards (bet you didn't know that! lol) .
I decided to pair black and Papertrey's new Berry Sorbet Cardstock. I stamped the awning in Palette Noir ink then grabbed my MFT Behind the Scenes polka dots and stamped on the awning.......I love the look! I used my copic markers for all the coloring and my Copic Spica Glitter pen for a little bling on the dresses. The yummy cake was cut out and popped up on a dimensional. The background polka dots were also made using Behind the Scenes - I just inked up the polka dots with my PTI Berry Sorbet ink, stamped off, then stamped the cardstock - I like the softer look. The 5/8" Sorbet Grosgrain Ribbon is also from Papertrey Ink - isn't it gawwwgeous??!!
I want to say a huge THANK YOU to all my wonderful family and friends (stamping or otherwise) and also to my MFT DT sistahs who have been so amazingly wonderful and full of wisdom about my most recent unexpected news.........what news you ask.........well, I recently found out that I am going to be a Nana. It came as quite a shock since I am young and my daughter is young. I wasn't really sure what to think at first, but all my *fabulous* friends assured me that God doesn't give us more than we can handle and that everything happens for a reason. I love each of you! My first priority right now is to get her finished with school and make sure that I am there to support her. She is doing well and the baby is doing well. We will make it through this. :)
I will be back tomorrow with something from Gina K. Designs!
I know you've already gotten tons of support on this, but I thought I'd share as well. I became a mommy just before I turned 17. I wan't due until May, so I finished my junior year of high school. Then I went to summer school and was able to graduate EARLY! What a blessing that was. My m-i-l insisted she be called nana as well. I've been married to my sons father for almost 7 years. My son is almost 9 and is in gifted classes at school- so things turn out the way they are supposed to most of the time. Good luck to you entire family. I wish you all the best.

HI Kendra,
Fabulous card! I love that stamp set. I became a mommy at a young age and my mom insisted she be called "nana" not Grandma, as she was a young one too! It's been 10 years since I broke the news to her that I would be having a baby instead of going away to college, getting married first, etc. etc. And you know what? The Lord COMPLETELY knew what he was doing. My Mom's support was invaluable to me at that time in my life, and she has never not been there for me! As a matter of fact, we have become so much closer because I was a young mother. Just trust in Him, and this will be a joyous time for your whole family. Congratulations to you and your family on this new little blessing that is coming your way.

My brother in law had his daughter Candice when he was 16 and he and his girlfriend took to the role very seriously and finished school knowing that it would give them the best opportunities to support their daughter by having a better paying job with that education. He is the first to tell you it was hard but if he could do it any differently he wouldn't. It was absolutely unexpected but ending up directing his life in a positive way. He is now in his early 30's with an 18 year old daughter who herself is graduating highschool with high marks and looking at a career in the medical field. She is the first to say that the examples her young parents set out for her made her realize how important education is and she loves them so much for all the sacrificies and hard work they did to raise her as best as they could. Her mother's parents played a huge role in supporting the young couple and their child and it made such a big difference.
We are all blessed to have Candice in our life- she is an incredible young woman and it's amazing to look back at what at first seemed like such a rough situation and have it turn out so well.
I just wanted to share this story in light of your news. Your daughter is so blessed to have such a loving and supportive mom, it will make all the difference.

Congrats on being a Nana. My mom is Nana to my girls. Nana's have a special place in grandchildren's hearts! Now you just need the new Women's of Life addition from PTI....it's on my wishlist too!

Beautiful card. I love the PTI Berry Sorbet as well. Thanks for sharing a card with us. So cool, I love dimensions too, gotta have layers upon layers.
Good luck with your daughter and the adjustment to Nana. My Mother-in-law had a hard time with it as well and she is older and also my boys Nana.
My mom was a young grandmother as well, not mine, but she wouldn't change it for the world, and I know you won't either. I am sure you and your daughter are going to do great.
