Fly Into Summer with Butterfly Garden!

Fly_into_summer_2

I hope you all had a fantastic 4th of July!  I didn't get near as much stamping done as I planned on because of all the cookouts and parties I went to, but I did get this cutie patootie card made using the Butterfly Garden set from Storage Units, Ink & More.  I {heart} this set, there are so many possibilities!

I used the Core'dinations Cardstock that Denise sent to me (Storage Units, Ink & More has it available in their webstore, along with matching inkpads and reinkers).  I have always been a diehard SU! cardstock fan, but I gotta tell you, this stuff is fantastic!  It has a smooth side and the other is textured.   I used the Aquamarines package for this card......Atoll Aqua, Aquamarine and Aquarium - awesome color combo!   I will definitely be using this cardstock a lot more, but don't worry I still LOVE my Stampin' Up! cardstock and wouldn't ever part with it!

I stamped the butterflies twice, cut one set out, colored them with my copics then popped them up on dimensionals, added some stickles for bling and also Liquid Pearls.  The butterfly panel is also up on dimensionals and I used my paper piercer all around the edges.   I also did lots of sponging and added dots with my white gel pen.

I hope the rest of your weekend is fantastic!

  • Stamps: Butterfly Garden
  • Ink:  Momento Tuxedo Black
  • Cardstock: Core'dinations aquarium, atoll aqua, aquamarine, Papertrey Ink White
  • Accessories:  Copic Markers, Primas, SU! Photo Corner Punch, Dimensionals, White Gel Pen, Stickles, Liquid Pearls

Flopsey and his Garden......

102_0240_by_scrapstampindiva
Meet the newest member of the MFT Family....Flopsey!  This is gardener Flopsey, Isn't he cute?!!  He's available now over at My Favorite Things.   I created a garden for him so that he could gather up all his carrots and share them with his bunny friends.    This image has so many possibilities and ya know, bunnies aren't just for easter anymore!  *wink*

I created the garden scene using my copic markers and an artist sketch pen.   This was so much fun to create.........I've really started enjoying making scenes.     I used two different MFT sets here, Gardener Flopsey and Can Ya  Dig It.    Flopsey and his wheelbarrow are covered with crystal effects and the carrots are covered with stickles.......Elizebeth Neumann said it looks like fresh morning dew and I would have to agree!  :)   I cut the sentiment into four different sections, sponged with chocolate chip and placed them on dimensionals.   Some dots with a white gel pen and some pearl stickers and voila!

  • Stamps:  Gardener Flopsey and Can Ya Dig It
  • I nk:  Memento Tuxedo Black

Storage Units, Ink & More.......Leapfrog!

Suink_froggie_4

It's finally my turn to give you a little peek at one of the cutest sets that is soon to be debuting at Storage Units, Ink & More. I created this scene using the cutie patootie set LEAP FROG! When I first saw this set, I knew it was the one that I wanted to use for my peek. I used a combination of papers. The blue paper is from Core'dinations (SU, Ink & More will be carrying this paper and it's wonderful), I also used PTI White, SU! Real Red and SU! designer paper. I created the scene by masking and it was so much fun to create. I stamped the frog twice, colored everything using my Copic Markers, cut the frog out and popped him up on dimensionals. I made the lilypad using my small SU! oval punch, then cut a few slits in it and sponged with chocolate chip ink. I used lots of crystal effects and stickles........it's very sparkly IRL!

How would you like to win this "Leapfrog" set for your very own? I'm offering up one of these Leap Frog stamp sets! All you have to do is leave me a comment, that's it - supah easy. I will be picking a random winner on Sunday the 29th. Denise at Storage Units, Ink & More will mail the set directly to you. Good Luck!!

DON'T FORGET...you've got a few more days to enter to win the Motherload contest on our SU Ink & More Blog, so if you haven't already...........sign up!

Take a break and relax.........

Take_a_break_by_scrapstampindiva
That is definitely easier said than done!  I tell myself that all the time.....just relax a little bit, but I never seem to be able to do it for very long.  I like to stay busy but moreover, I LOVE to sit down at my stamping space and create something.   I sat down last night to create a few cards and grabbed this MFT Presents Annie LaPoint image that had been up until now uninked.  I love this bathtub image - the bathtub reminds me of the tub my great-grandma had in her bathroom years ago (well minus the stripes and the flowers lol).

I used my copics to color the image, then went over everything with my Pearlescent Watercolors that Kim sent me - they are FABULOUS and leave lots of sparkle on your image!!  You can't ever have too much sparkle IMO!   I stamped the flowers/leaves twice, then cut them out and popped them up on SU! dimensionals.    The bathtub stripes and flowers are covered with SU! Crystal Effects.  The color combo is SU! Basic Black, WW, Apricot Appeal and my beloved Cool Caribbean.   I added some gemstones and primas to polish off the card.

I have tons of new stamps that I have been playing with - it makes my head swim - heehee!  I never know which ones to grab first.  There are several new releases that will be coming soon and you can catch your first peeks right here.  You are absolutely going to adore what is coming - they are all FABULOUS!!!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Lavender and a SFYTT......

102_0216_by_scrapstampindiva
I absolutely love my friend Jen del Muro's weekly SFYTT (sketch for you to try).......she has some really great sketches and the sketch for this week is no exception!

For this card I decided to use one of the stamps from the new line from MFT - My Favorite Things Presents - these images are by Annie LaPoint and they are just too stinkin' cute.  I normally choose my color combo and then my stamps, but for this one I chose my stamp first and the color evolved from there.    Lovely Lilac, Wild Wasabi and Basic Black look amazing together - I don't think I have used this combo before, but WOW,  I will definitely use it again.

I was asked by Lori McCrosky, the owner of Clear Dollar Stamps, if I would like to be a member of her design team.   I, of course, said I would love to.  SCS's own Laurie Wilson (tx stamper) is one of the stamp designers behind Clear Dollar Stamps - her images are fabo!!!!  take a look at her stuff here.   Her critter images are just amazing too!!!!

I have been missing in action for the last several days, I have had lots to do and several deadlines that were needing my attention.   Have a great Monday!

Party with MFT on SCS..........

Sweet

My Favorite Things
is having a New Release Cocktail Party tonight from 9-11 p.m. Eastern time. LOTS of fun (and a surprise release) are planned including finding out how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer. Head over to the SCS MFT forum to find out all the details and I hope to see you there tonight!!  Don't miss it!

Here is another card I did using Here's the Scoop.   If you love ice cream as much as I do then you are absolutely gonna love this new set!  It has so many possibilities and the sentiments are just fabulous.   I used my friend Jen del Muro's sketch for you to try that she had posted on her blog - this sketch ROCKS - I love it!  I combined, Chocolate chip, Regal Rose, Basic Gray and Pretty In Pink.   I used two different cuttlebug embossing folders for both of the panels just to give it some contrast.  The fudge and cherry are colored with copic markers, cut out and popped up on a dimensional - I added some crystal effects to the fudge and it looks yummy!   A little pen work around the frame and some of my favorite SU! 5/8" regal rose ribbon to polish it off.

I am hoping to get some stamping time in this evening, I still have some card orders to fill and a ton of new stamps that need some of my love.   :)   Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Congrats All Around

Congrats_on_your_home

Good Morning!!!  Here's another sample I whipped up for the unveiling of the new My Favorite Things stamps that will debut tomorrow night!!  woohoo!   This particular card uses Congrats all Around.   Your Mega and Giga Marvy Scallop and Circle Punches work great with this set.  I have had so much fun playing with these new stamps and I know you will too!

I have been oogling Faith Hofrichter's (markie's mom on SCS) cards lately and absolutely LOVE what she does with black cardstock.   Faith does some really amazing work!   So I decided that I was going to whip out my black cardstock (which I don't do very often) and team it up with PTI Berry Sorbet, Whisper White and Blush Blossom.   A little stamping, a little punching, a little cuttlebugging, a little pen work and voila!   This was a very simple card and layout, but I think it packs a punch.  :)

Have a wonderful rest of the day, and don't forget to check out all the Design Team MFTeasers over at Splitcoast Stampers in this gallery.

So Here's The Scoop......

The_scoop

Here's another MFTeaser I promised using one of the six new sets that MFT is debuting on Wednesday night.......this one is Here's the Scoop.  Oh yeah, love this one!  I love everything about this image right down to the cutie patootie flowers on the chair.   When I pulled this set out this color combo just came to me and holy moly I think it rocks - certainly celery and tempting turquoise!

I made my own background DP - I used Polkadot Basics from Papertrey Ink and Plaid Background from All That Scraps - then colored them in using my Copic Markers.  If you love to color like I do, then you will love this set.    I added crystal effects to the flowers for some shine and dimension - I also added a gemstone brad and some stickles to the prima flowers.  Everything is up on dimensionals because I {heart} 3-D!  :)

This is one of my favorites I've done in a while, I think I'll make a few more of these to package up and give as gifts.   I have had a great weekend and got plenty of stamping done - tomorrow it's back to work! uggh!   See you tomorrow for another peek!

What's Up Cupcake?

Whats_up_cupcake

This is one of the MFTeasers I was telling you about in yesterday's post.  This is one of the newest mini sets from My Favorite Things called What's Up Cupcake.  The stand, cupcakes, icing and sprinkles are all separate stamps so you can design the cupcakes however you want.  LOVE IT!  I stamped the icing and added sprinkles on a separate piece of cardstock and then cut them out and popped them up on dimensionals on top of the cupcakes.  I covered the icing and cupcakes with crystal effects - they look good enough to eat!  *wink*   I distressed all of the cardstock with my Tim Holtz paper distresser.  I adore this color combo, Ballet Blue, Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi - the DP is SU!

My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com) is having a New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday, June 4 from 9-11 p.m. Eastern time. LOTS of fun (and a surprise release) is planned including finding out how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer. Head over to the MFT forum on www.splitcoaststampers.com to find out all the details and we hope to see you there on Wednesday night.

There are six new releases for the month of June - yes, I said six!  So keep checking back for more of those great peeks!

Oh, we had a fabulous time last night!  We went to dinner at Applebee's then headed over to the theatre to see Sex and the City - OMG the movie was wonderful!!!  If you haven't seen it yet, you've got to go!  It was about 2 1/2 hours long and sooooo worth it!

Serenity Now......

Serenity

I made this ATC a few days ago and find it so fitting for me lately - this is a little of what I need, some serenity!  I have had so many things going on in my life that I think I just need to take a breath and focus on the important and the positive!!!  My personal life has been somewhat crazy and I am really working on getting back on track. :)

I pulled out my MFT Serenity Now and Behind the Scenes and started working on these adorable ATC's.   The color combo is Chocolate Chip, Blush Blossom, Wild Wasabi and PTI Berry Sorbet. I used my copic markers to color the image, cut her out, and popped her up on SU! dimensionals.  The lotus flower was made using my small SU! oval punch.  The sentiment was stamped on Blush Blossom with PTI Berry Sorbet and punched out with the SU! word window punch.  I got my inspiration for the lotus flower from bunches on SCS.

I have several deadlines looming and have made a bunch of new cards - I will be posting those over the next few days.  It's almost time for the next new releases from My Favorite Things - I will also be posting some MFTeasers soon!!!  You won't want to miss these, the new releases are just amazing and Kim really outdid herself this time.

I need to run and get ready, I am going out tonight to dinner and to the movies to see Sex and the City with some girlfriends of mine - looking forward to it!

Hmmmm...Where Do I Want to Go?

Moms_stamping_039

This is what I would like to be doing right now,  looking at a map and trying to figure out where I want to go!   Wow, would I like to take a vacation!  I had such fun coloring these new images from My Favorite Things.....this set is called Going Places.  I went with a brighter color combo - I love Tempting Turquoise and haven't used it in a while.....paired with the black, it just pops.   I used my copic markers to color all the images.  The airplane and the luggage are cut out and on dimensionals.

I haven't stamped in a few days because I have been so busy.......that should be against the law  *wink*    I have a bunch of new stamps that I need to get ink on and some swaps for the GSG that I need to get to work on too.  Have a great rest of the weekend!

Happier.....Because of You

Moms_stamping_037_3
Moms_stamping_038
This is the card and the nametag I made for the Arlington Shoebox Swap - I said last week that I would post it and I forgot.   I used the retired SU! Because of You set that I positively adore and don't use near enough!    I colored the image using my Stampin' Write Markers.   I chose the Real Red and Pumpkin Pie combo because it reminds me of spring/summer.   Of course I had to bust out with my swiss dots cuttlebug folder - seems I can hardly make a card these days without using it.    Oh yeah and the SU! Scallop Circle Punch I simply couldn't live without!

I have a few new MFT cards to share with you, I'll be back to post that tomorrow.  Have a great day!

Just a Walkin' Oscar.....

Walkin_oscar
Meet Oscar (well, I named him Oscar after my daughter's sweet toy weenie dog lol)....this is a card I made using one of the newest sets from MFT - Gone to the Dogs........it's now available!  There are all different breeds in this set - big dogs and little dogs - it's perfect for the dog lover!    I used my copic markers to color everything and to create the sidewalk, I also used my artist pen to draw the grass........it's so much fun to create a scene and didn't take much time at all.   I added some platinum stickles to the leash and to outline her top......everybody needs bling!

I had a fabulous time this last weekend at the 3rd Annual Arlington Shoebox Swap - I got to see so many of my good stamping friends again, it was just wonderful!!!   I took lots of pics and am just now getting them uploaded on SCS - you can view some of them here.    I still have a few more to upload, I just need time  lol     Jackie and Emily really outdid themselves this year and I can't wait for next year.   Hey, I think Laura Canale was talking about maybe hosting one in Las Vegas - now just how fabulous would that be??!  Oh yeah Laura, count me in!  :)    I will be posting my swap card and my nametag in tomorrow's post!

Love Affair with Cool Caribbean......

Thinking_of_you_by_scrapstampindiva
Yes, it's true........I still *heart* my SU! Cool Caribbean - I would use is ALL the time if it wasn't for the fact I know I can't get anymore!!  I still have about 3 packages left so I'm good for now.   I think this color combo rocks (Creamy Caramel, Wild Wasabi and Cool Caribbean) and started to use it for my cards for the Arlington Shoebox Swap this weekend, but opted for some brighter spring colors instead!   I colored the topiary image with my copic markers and did some shading with my prismacolor pencils - love how it turned out.  This adorable image is from Rupa Shevda's set "Thinking of You" - it's available at Gina K. Designs.

Does anyone else out there not like Monday's as much as me???  Monday's are my least favorite day of the week!   Now next Monday will be fabulous, because I will have the day off *sweet*!!  Did I mention I can't wait for Friday?  I think I did in my last post.......I will be heading to Arlington to stamp with some of my best stamping buddies - nothin' better than that I tell ya!  I have all 45 cards cut, bagged up and ready to go.  Now to finish up my door prize......

April 25, 2008

Ode to Cammie.......

Moms_stamping_019
Happy Friday!!!  It's my favorite day of the week! I plan on getting all my housework and yardwork done this afternoon so that I can finish my doorprize for the Arlington Shoebox Swap that is coming up next weekend.  I am supah excited about going!!!  I get to see all my wonderful stampin' friends!  Jackie and Emily put a lot of work into it so that everybody has a fabulous time!

This little project I put together the night before last to give to the Secretary at the Jr. High for Secretary's Day - she absolutely loved it.   I totally case'd this from my wonderful friend Cammie (carolyn king) who is a rockstar stamper!  *Cammie I got the card you sent me in the mail and it was absolutely adorable!!  I loved it and I loved that you were thinkin' about me - thanks so much for the words inside - they meant alot!!!  love ya and can't wait to see ya next weekend!*   I made the flowers using my SU! Word Window Punch and my 1 1/4" circle punch.   I bought a couple of packs of flower seeds (they are attached to the gardening girl panel) and a pair of gardening gloves (which I rolled up and tied with ribbon).   This was really simple to make and didn't take long at all!  I used the MFT "Can Ya Dig It" set.

I also wanted to say hello and thank you to another dear friend of mine Kimmie aka Kim Reid.   I LOVED the stamp, the saying is fabulous and it couldn't be more true!!!   I also really loved the card and the words inside meant more than you will know!

Have a great rest of the day!

Owl Always Be Here...........

Owl_always_love_you
Dont'cha just love these owls???  Aren't they just stinkin' adorable??  These are the newest members of Gina K. Designs......this set is called "Owl Always Love You".  I absolutely love all of the owl stamps that have been coming out lately, these little baby's are my first and I have my eye on a few others and you can bet I will be buying them!

I colored them with my copic markers (which I absolutely adore) - I got mine from Kim at My Favorite Things.  I know there are some of you out there that say you just can't justify the cost, but trust me they are absolutely worth the money.  You do have to practice with them for a bit, but once you get the hang of it they are absolutely amazing!  The color combo I chose is Wild Wasabi, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip and Blush Blossom.   I added a few baubles, some hand doodling and that luscious 5/8" Chocolate SU! Grosgrain ribbon.

Check back tomorrow, I have something cute to post that I cased from my good friend Cammie (carolyn king).  :)
